| dc.description.abstract | Background: Nurses spend considerable time in the act of caring, so perspectives of nurses about nurse caring behaviors could give strong impact on individual, politics, and economics; The work burden of nurse compromise quality of care and patient dissatisfaction. Although there is scarcity of study on perception towards nurse caring behaviors using validated tools in Ethiopia. Objective: To assess level of Nurses perception towards Nurse caring behaviors and associated factors in Hospitals of Harar town, Eastern Ethiopia. Methods and Materials: Institution based cross sectional study design was conducted from January 1-30/2018 in Hospitals of Harar Town. The study was conducted among Nurses at Governmental and Non-Governmental Hospitals. A single population mean formula was used to estimate the total sample size of 474 study subjects. By systematic random sampling method 474 were invited to participate, 465 were completely filled questionnaires, Bi-bariate logistic regression was carried out to check effect of independent variables on perception. Finally, multivariate logistic regression was carried out to minimized the confounding variables and effect modifiers with p-value P≤0.05 at 95 % CI. Result: The mean (±SD) score of perception nurse towards nurse caring behaviors was found to be 4.21(±1.08). Lack of satisfaction with profession [(AOR=3.51 ,95% CI: (1.54-7.97], . having had bad relation with doctors - [(AOR=4.5695% CI: (2.150-9.67, having had conflict with supervisor [(AOR=2.440,95% CI: (1.133-5.251)], being diploma and less in level of education [(AOR=2.65 ,95% CI: (1.06 -6.62)] , and being married [(AOR=3.562,95% CI:1.284-9.876)] were significantly associated with Nurses‟ perception towards Nurse caring behaviors. Conclusion: Findings of this study revealed that the Total Nurse Caring Behaviors CBI score was found to be low. | en_US |
