| dc.description.abstract | This study was conducted with the objectives of investigating the factors affecting javelin and 
discus throwing events in west shoa zone, Oromia regional state; the case of Ambo town 
athletics sport club. The total population of 86 participants. Among these,75 (100%) were 
Athletes, coaches 6(73.7%)and 5(26.3%) sport administration staff from the three athletes 
clubs U,15-18 U,19-22 U, 23-25 Athletics club were included in the questionnaire from these 
3 coaches were participated in interview. Three basic research questions were raised to 
achieve the objectives of the study. To answer those basic research questions, descriptive 
survey research design and primary source of data was employed. To achieve the objectives of 
the study 86 athletes 6 coaches’ 5 sport administration office. In depth questionnaire for 
athletes and coaches, interviews for sport administration office. Data obtained were analyzed 
through both quantitatively using frequency and percentage, and qualitatively in simple 
sentence. Among the factors identified: lack of support and motivations from athletes, experts 
coaches in low, a gap of knowledge or skills, lack of attention to give priority for physical 
activity to made the best of their leisure time, absence of appropriate instrument and facilities 
in the club as well as in the town were affect the awareness and attitudes, and hinder 
participation of physical fitness. Finally the specific recommendations were forwarded to 
athletes, coaches, all respondents, sport administration and any concerned bodies. | en_US |
