dc.description.abstract Repeated induced abortion, having subsequent termination of pregnancy, is becoming a common heath concern for many women throughout world. Limited evidence is available on the magnitude and factors associated with repeated induced abortion in, Harar town. Objective: To assess the magnitude and factors associated with repeated induced abortion among women attending comprehensive abortion care services at public health facilities in Harar town, eastern Ethiopia. Method: Facility based cross-sectional survey carried out between June 6 and August 6, 2022 in two hospitals and four health centers found in Harar. Convenient sampling strategy used to select a sample of 374 women who were received induced abortion care consecutively. Face-to-face interview was conducted to collect data using pre-tested structured questionnaire. SPSS version 20.0 statistical analysis software were used for analysis. Bivariate and multivariate analysis was carried out by using binary logistic regression. P-value less than 0.05 at 95% CI was considered to declare statistical significant association. Results: Out of 374 respondents 96 (25.7%) [95% CI: (21.1%, 29.9%)] of them had repeated induced abortion. Increased odds of having RIA was seen among women age 25-34year [2.604(1.052,6.450)] and 34-44year [3.685(1.260, 10.779)], who were employed [6.794(2.726,16.954)], initiated sexual debut before age of 18years [5.495(2.429,12.431)], not desired baby before two year [2.583(1.081, 6.175)], not received post-abortal contraception [3.593(1.619, 7.972)], women who ever used substance [7.930(3.789, 16.595)], those women who had history of multiple sexual partner [3.392(1.571, 7.323)] and partner violence [5.881(1.799,19.225)]. Conclusions: Repeated induced abortion remains common in Harar. Being older, employed, having early sexual debut, multiple partner, abusive relationship and substance use increases the chances of experiencing RIA. Providing comprehensive and targeted post-abortal contraceptive counseling with full range of contraceptive is essential to address the unmet FP need of repeaters. en_US
